Powertrain warranty vs. Bumper-to-bumper Warranty - Know the Difference

When you’re buying a used car, it’s reassuring when the dealer is offering a warranty as long as you know what the warranty is covering. Most warranties are either powertrain warranties or bumper-to-bumper warranties. Stop at Holler Hyundai if you would like these explained.

Bumper-to-bumper warranties cover bumper to bumper, which includes air conditioning system, electronics, audio system, suspension components, and powertrain. Because they over so much, bumper-to-bumper warranties are often called comprehensive warranties. Powertrain warranties cover the vehicle’s compulsion system, which includes engine, transmission, differential, driveshaft and velocity joints. The compulsion parts are typically the most expensive to repair, but bumper to bumper warranties cover more.
